Social Work Month 2015

There are people in every community who go above and beyond their regular work to make a significant difference in the lives of thousands. These advocates can come from any field, but many times they are professional social workers.

“Wherever there is extreme poverty, lack of basic needs like food, water and shelter, the trafficking and abuse of people across countries or serious family problems in affluent societies, you will find social workers alongside people, helping them to make changes in their lives,” says IFSW President David N. Jones, PhD.

The official theme for Social Work Month in March 2016 is “Social Work: Forging Solutions Out of Challenges.”

Celebrated each March, National Professional Social Work Month is an opportunity for social workers across the country to turn the spotlight on the profession and highlight the important contributions they make to society. Our nation’s more than 600,000 social workers have amazing tenacity and talent.

They confront some of the most challenging issues facing individuals, families, communities and society and forge solutions that help people reach their full potential and make our nation a better place to live.

We celebrate the contributions of social workers during National Social Work Month in March.

“I too have been helped by a social worker as an adult both personally and professionally. I sought the assistance of a social worker when my son needed assistance with his own struggles.” So for all l you do i say , “THANK YOU.”
