31 DAYS OF MINDFUL ME (Day 23: January 22nd).           


 Music and Mindfulness 

Listening to music can be a great mindfulness exercise. Choose music that is soothing. Maybe classical or instrumental. Sit in a comfortable and upright posture. Choose a space that there will be a minimal amount of distraction and be sure to remove electronics like cellphones. Spend a few minutes breathing fully and completely. Really immersing yourself when you inhale and exhale.

Listen to the music, focus with intention on the sound and the vibration of each note, the feeling that the music brings up within you and other sensations that are happening “right now ” as you listen.

If other thoughts creep in, gently bring your attention back to the current moment and the music you are hearing. Afterwards, notice how much calmer you feel.
